  Abstract. We discuss the magnetic and topological properties of bulk crystals and quasi–two-dimensional (quasi-2D) thin films formed by stacking intrinsic magnetized topological insulator (for example, Mn (Sb x B i 1 − x) 2 X 4 with X = Se,Te) septuple layers and topological insulator quintuple layers in arbitrary analysis makes use of a simplified model that retains only Dirac.   The films and superlattices have been grown in a commercial dc magnetron sputtering system, using stoichiometric targets and on () SrTiO 3 substrates. The system is computer-controlled and the substrate holder can be moved in front of each target to grow the multilayers. Perpendicular magnetic anisotropy has recently been predicted and confirmed for a Co 1 /Ni 2 multilayer [G. H. O. Daalderop, P. J. Kelly, and F. J. A. den Broeder, Phys. Rev.
